This is intended to improve the game, without overdoing things and taking away the doom feeling.

Once more, an update for my mod, this version will expand upon what I though was final. you don´t need to dl the old versions as this has it all improved, here I will list what´s new, and make sure you read what is in the previous release.

Additions:

. Re-balanced weapons and tweaked values

. Tweaked A.I

  • Regular zombies can run just like zsecs
  • Some enemies will attemp to dodge incoming attacks rather than wait to get hit.
  • Imps can strafe towards the player route to block his path.
  • Revenants will take cover and strafe while supressing the player with rockets.

. Minimalistic realistic HUD

  • Only relevant digits are visible
  • Ammo left in clip of weapons without a built in ammo counter is no longer visible (You´ll have to keep track yourself of bullets left like in real life)
  • Only reserve ammunition is visible for weapons without a built in ammo counter.
  • Minimal crosshair
  • No random information from just looking at a npc or entering a room
  • Most icons are barely visible so they don´t clutter the screen

. All marines have been retextured to be more consistent among themselves and the player

  • Custom normals for additional details
  • Custom specular for bloody effect

. Tons of new sounds for everything

  • Custom scripts to add more audio variety and fix some distance issues

Among the previous changes

Most sounds are in 22,050 KHz frequency to reduce weight, but it will be automatically raised ingame for a crisp and clear audio.

You can see the old list of updates in the previous release. This version doesn´t include things for ROE atm though, you will have to add them manually.

I had more things planned, but I´ll need some guidance, and the doomworld forums are down atm.

If there is any problem with the file, like something missing or having errors, let me know.

Known bug: When the oxigen indicator appears, it will remain on the screen afterwards, no idea why it happens, but it is barely visible nonetheless. If you see a weird flicker when a corpse is gibbed let me know, still not sure if it´s a problem only on my end.

  • Tweaked hellhole level for a more intense final battle
  • Added chatter for zsecs and commandos
  • Tweaked several values for weapons and other thins
  • Realistic minigun reload

among other changes.

UPDATED January 2015

  • Fixed excessive knockback from the chaingun and plasmagun
  • Fixed a crash in delta2a due to a faulty commando and zombie def file
  • Removed some of the added dialogue to the commando for being unfitting
  • High res mars texture for main menu

put the folder and .bat file in your doom 3 directory should look like C:/"location of the game"/doom 3/strelok
