I made this a separate submission because I made major model edits, and some people might like the other style better.

I never really liked how the Widowmaker was a bit too short for the engineer to hold properly, and, to be honest, never really understood the logic behind it. I mean, it fires a bunch of scrap metal instead of a shotgun shell, so why is the barrel so small?

So I stuck the Direct hit on the Widowmaker, and got what I was aiming for: a large-bore cannon. But others and myself saw room for improvement, so here we are: the V2!

Changes

  • I have re-hexed the model to use it's own textures. This means that it will no longer use the textures you already have for the Direct Hit and Widowmaker, and so installing it is now a simple drag-and-drop.

Apparently this still wasn't the case. I just uploaded a fixed version of the files.

  • The weapon's stock has been removed, and the mesh from the Direct Hit has been significantly shortened on the back (it looks less "throw together" now), to help make the model look different.

  • I added a small fan at the back. Something that shoots a bunch of scrap probably needs to vent a lot of heat, plus I needed to put something there after I removed the stock.

  • The mesh has been slightly optimized to remove some useless interior polys.

  • I fixed the world muzzleflash. It was coming out of the engineer's head before. :|

Please comment/rate, so that I can improve this if need be.
