Kyle taking over the Empire, becoming the big bad). Bit of bad news, though in that Kyle was never an Imperial officer or agent. 'tis true, the Jedi Battlemaster started out as.... (drumroll) ....a simple stormtrooper grunt. But that's kind of irrelevant. The best way to sum this skin up would be "desaturated", at first glance, but looking closer one sees that smaller details have been changed rather than just had desaturation slapped over them. Imperial rank insignia, arm patch, and the little blippy lights on Kyle's belt, to be specific. Desaturation is still desaturation, there's no two ways about that, but I guess it's only fair to mention that the skin doesn't necessarily look bad because of it. I just can't really hail it as being any sort of accomplishment in the field of skinning, given that skinning is traditionally defined as creation and modification of textures. Still, a decent enough start for a first-timer. It's just something we've seen too many times before, I'm afraid. Tips for AmonRa would be to be bold, march in and start editing textures as opposed to flicking the sliders. You'll find tutorials for both Photoshop and GIMP which cover creation of all sorts of textures - metals, flesh, fabrics, etc - and while none of them are typically written for gaming purposes, they're as applicable to game textures as Shakespeare's timeless words are to modern society. If you're a bit of a Kyle collector, this one may very well slot in to your base folder comfortably. Personally, I'd like to see AmonRa and other skinners push their boundaries more in future, and start playing with serious skinning techniques as opposed to tweaking settings. Come on, shows us what ya got! :p ~ Kouen Bot Profiles: No NPC Profiles: No Custom Audio: No Team Colors: No
Well, I think we've all seen an 'Imperial' version of Kyle Katarn before. Not least because there was an official version portrayed in one ending of Dark Forces 2 (which presumably lead to
