scratch. Sure, it could use a little work, but it's a good start. There are several major problems. FIrst of all, the face. Faces are hard, I know, but this one just looks funky. Most of it is because it's trying to hide a beard and mustache, though. The other major model-related problem is that this model is meant to be wearing clothes, hence several "folds" (really just bumps) in the mesh. There's one in particular on the back, that makes it look very strange. So what happens when you skin muscles over a flat mesh? It looks somewhat silly, to a certain extent. Especially the arms. The arms on this skin look very off from any angle except the front. I've tried doing this too, though, and I didn't have any better results. You just can't make a flat arm look muscled. As far as the actual skinning, I find that it looks somewhat plastic-y. Too shiny, perhaps, that it almost looks cartoony. I seem to see a certain style I've seen before in another modeller, which in certain areas is not realistic (mainly the abs - to the best of my knowledge, they're not round like that). The back is also unrealistic, because the shoulderblades are far too high. The attempts at creating folds on the pants are a very good first try - my first try was kind of like that - but some of the folds are just a little bit out of place. That comes with practice, however. Overall I'd say a very nice effort. Work on your problems, and you'll be producing better work. The only thing that would really [i]drastically[/i] improve your skinning is to find a model suitable for the skin you are creating. Kyle's a good model, he's just not good for [i]everything[/i]. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Don't try to skin flesh over a beard. It doesn't look good. Ever. That said, I applaud the author for what looks like a good attempt at skinning from
