There's wasted polies everywhere (especially in the neck and knobs) and a general inefficient use of the tools given to him. The model uses up the entire 35 object limit and it does so in the most useless way I've seen thus far. Nearly every part of the model is its own object. They could've been grouped together into 3 objects, simply due to the engine's limitation of 1000 vertices for an object. Heck, with a more efficient poly usage, it could probably be grouped into a single object. But the general shape is indeed that of a Les Paul. The texture fulfills its job of giving it color and that's pretty much all it does. They hold next to no detail and in some cases are just flat colors. There's a few color scheme options available, all of which look uniformly below average. It's sad, really, that something that could've been so unbelievably awesome is let down by what seems to be a rushed job. There are some new sounds, namely the hit sounds are replaced with some short guitar effects. All in all, it had potential, but it failed. I hope there will be a v2, with improved modelling and texturing. A wise man knows what to say. A wiser man knows when to say it. - Jose
Guitars rule. But enough of my opinions, this isn't the place for those. 1ShotDoctor has given us a model of the legendary Gibson Les Paul. Taking a look at the model, the technique he used is awful.
