Mandalorian Fortress

will like this map, which is meant to be some kind of Mandalorian base on the planet Mandalore. The area where the map sits initially reminded me a little bit of Dxun, for those who have played KotOR2. Perhaps this is where this author gained some of his inspiration. In any case, I'll agree that the map looking very much Mandalorian in style. It includes what I suspect to be a dueling ring, surrounded by spikes, and a simple platform in the middle of a large chasm. The texturing might be described as hectic, yet still fitting. Many different textures have been used to create the map, but they all seem to go together fairly well. The lighting in this map is also quite good, as far as I can tell, and keeps the skybox's somewhat overcast look from being out of place. The architecture is varied and interesting, although mainly angular. It works, though. Overall a good duel map, yet it would probably be functional for a sabers FFA as well. This map was originally intended to be a contest submission, but the author apparently became very ill during that time, so while a little bit late, we can still enjoy it now. Mandalorian fans
