Multiple Coloured Screens

heard of "green-screening". Example: actors can't really fly. So, in a movie about a flying man, they have the actor strike the pose while in a room made of green surfaces, where he films his motions and dialogue during 'flight' scenes. Then, afterwards in post-processing, an editing package is used to render the actor and delete the namesake "green screen", at which point a seperate video file of his 'flight path' is added behind him. The finished product shows a flying man. And considering I've just completely [u]ruined[/u] the illusion of most movie and TV show stunts for you, I think I should move swiftly on, because I haven't the heart to tell you that WWE isn't real.... Oops! :p Essentially that's what's brought up here. Green screen maps. You film the character performing their actions on the green screen, then in a video editing package you render out the green color, and lay an image in the background - thus presenting a rudimentary form of CGI. Also included are several different colors of screen, because obviously if something you want to film just happens to be green, that'd be erased along with the green screen.
