RELEASE NOTES

V2 Black motion trails have finally been added to the Black version of the Axe. Very special thanks to AWSM for finding the fix.

This is a quick reskin of the original Axe with your choice of Black and Red. Added some color adjustments and more scratching to make the axe look used.

INSTALL

Place the VPK's into your Addons Folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons"

Note, you must choose to turn on either the Red or Black, not both at the same time.

As of 12/30/09 the VPK method is disabled in Realism Mode... Not sure why Valve did this, so if you want to play Realism with this skin, follow the instructions below.

1. Navigate to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2"
2. Overwrite the "materials" folder in your "left4dead2" folder.
3. Overwrite your "Whitelist.cfg" with the supplied one.
4. Open pak01_dir.vpk with notepad++ and change the following lines, (bmelee_weapons is the Black Axe, rmelee_weapons is the Red Axe)

$baseTexture "models\Weapons\melee/4melee_weapons"
