_________________________________________________________________________________________ Lurkbox_qs for HLDM Originally created by [WTF?]Lurker as Lurkbox and Lurkbox2 Renovated and Decorated by qUiCkSiLvEr 28Feb2003 _________________________________________________________________________________________ This map is an update of a popular (almost cult) HLDM map that was originally concrete and brick textures. The map needed a bit of cleanup to fix vertices and things but most of the time was spent applying new textures and working on the lighting as well as adding a few more entities, a low-gravity suit and a couple of gravity resets. I also added a bouncepad in each room to improve the vertical connectivity and I added a peek-a-boo feature to walls of the central tower where players can press into the walls and suddenly see (and shoot) thru (no, it's NOT a mistake, I wanted it that way!). It's risky doing it though because your body will poke out enough for players outside to see you too. There are several small secrets added to the map, but the basic design and structure are identical to lurker's original concept. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Weapons and ammo: Everything but the beegun. improved distribution of ammo and weapons. improved health and batteries in strategic places. Spawn Points: 9 Skybox: none required sprites/models: only standard ones used. WADS: extensive new decorator grade textures were used as well as new wood and custom wood ladder textures. All non-standard textures are compiled into the BSP. (and no, I won't decorate your house, you won't like it!) Enhancements: You have to see them to believe them ... :) Tools Used: Valve Hammer, Zoners Tools, MS Imager, Wally, MGI photosuite winbspc, quark and bsp_view to name a few. Compile time: 10 minutes on a 850Mhz P3 under WinXP. Download Time: Around 18 minutes. This version is just a "tiny bit" larger than the original due to the embedded custom textures (about 3.5x the size of the original map). _________________________________________________________________________________________ Many Thanks: ------------ To the great Beta Testers at Team [USA] for all their help and support and ideas.
