December 11th 1999 ================================================================ Title : Far2Cool Deathmatch Arena File(s) : f2cdm.bsp, f2cdm.txt Author : Alex 'Alvin' Vincent e-mail : alex@far2cool.demon.co.uk www : www.far2cool.demon.co.uk www.far2cool.co.uk www.far2cool.com Description : Large funky deathmatch map, all the weapons are there with some funky architecture... or at least I think its funky! Enjoy it! Special Thanks to : Valve Software Miles Chicoine Dann Thombs [F2C] The Far2Cool Faction 256MB RAM Other Maps : Mojo - Duke Nukem 3D Monserat - Quake Other Notes : I'm more commonly known as [F2C]Alvin online and most well known for being the founder of the worlds biggest Team Fortress Classic League, the UKTFCL due to start its 3rd season early 2000! Also webmaster of the 'Half-life@Far2Cool' fanzine. I ran this site for 18 months way back before Half-Life became game-of-the-year with Dann... so I finally finished a level Dann! ================================================================ Play Information Deathmatch : Yes (8-32 players, 16+ playerstarts) ================================================================ Construction Base : New level from scratch Editor(s) : Worldcraft v2.1 Zoners Half-Life Tools (thank you!) Known Bugs : r_speeds Design Time : Started September 1997 ;) Compile Time : About _so_ long! ================================================================ Designer's Notes As mentioned above, the r_speeds can get high in some places. I did all I could, in terms of cutting out architecture, to get them down but there was only so much architecture I was ever going to cut without the level ending up being just a few boring interconnected rooms! If it appears 'bitty' its probably because I've been working on the raw .map file for over two years, yes 2! So some bits dont exactly 'fit' but I kept them in simply because of the hours it took to make them and I'll be buggered if I'll take them out! The 'chessboard' room was design way back after I released Monserat for quake... it was going to be Monserat II! Weapon placement is adequate, all the weapons are there though. Far2Cool Deathmatch Arena should be a load of fun for 7 or more players I think 20 would be the upper limit. Thanks to Zoners Half-Life Tools, mostly his funky hlvis.exe tool with the sky-clip feature! No swimming on my levels! ================================================================ Installation To play this level, extract the file "f2cdm.bsp" into your sierra\half-life\valve\maps directory and then start the game. Start a new LAN or Internet deathmatch server and select the map f2cdm.bsp in the list. Or type "map f2cdm" or "changelevel f2cdm" from the console. ================================================================ Copyright and Permissions This level may be distributed via any medium (ie: Internet, BBS, CD-ROM, compilation disk) as long as it maintains the name f2cdm.bsp and is supplied in a zip file called f2cdm.zip that also contains this text document and all associated files.
