However her rapid speed and high manoeuvrability allow her to flit in and out of dangerous situations to wreak maximum nuisance on larger opponents. So successful was she in her earlier incarnation, that she has been numerously re-outfitted, overhauled and updated over the years, and remains in active service.
The Merlin class was developed as a small support vessel, geared primarily for the mass deployment of anti-matter mines along frontier zones and trouble spots. Her relatively light offensive
