I'm no expert mapper, but it seems this same idea could be used in your map to make it really look like it's above a planet. This reminds me of Angel Land from [url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kid_Icarus"]Kid Icarus[/url]. It's a different idea, but could use a little work. The areas of sky that you don't want units on
