chose to use an M1 Gerand in their games, but decided to have it as an un-reloadable weapon. As these games were released first, it seems that it proved to be a tad-bit on the difficult side to sway gamers to the other way of thinking!
For some reason, gamers have it in their head that the M1 Garand is somehow "impossible to reload". The fact that we know differently and allow the player to reload the weapon in Brothers in Arms has become quite the point of controversy. We get swamped with emails and feedback about how we're doing it wrong.
To comabat the typical gamer's thought on this, and to set the record straight, military and historical director, Col. John Antal (ret.) has taken it upon himself to create this video of himself loading and reloading his M1 Garand. This little clip is great for any WWII history or weapons buff, it shows how much time and energy is put into the games of today!
The guys over at Gearbox Software have released a video clip on the reloading of the M1 Gerand; The reason for this release is, for some reason, the makers of Call of Duty and Medal of Honor
